Team Development

The purpose of teamwork is to achieve results that are better than individual. Effective teamwork represents aspiration of each organization, but we often witness counterproductive effects of ineffective teamwork on performance and organizational climate. There is a number of pre-conditions for the team to achieve synergy and excellent results.

timski-radBy assessing team dynamics and synergy:

• intra-team communication is evaluated

• task approach is evaluated

• the quality of group problem solving is evaluated

• participants learn about team synergy and the necessary skills for its achievement

Effectiveness of teamwork is evaluated by achieved team synergy, i.e. whether team solutions were better than individual. Measuring team dynamics sheds light on team members' interaction, how they communicated, if they supported each other, built on others' ideas or criticized them, stood against all solutions insisting on their own, if personal goals were more important than team goals etc.

Measuring team synergy is done by measuring the quality of group solutions and decisions in various simulations. Participants are placed in certain situations that they should first solve individually, and later within their team. Effective teamwork brings solutions of much higher quality compared to individual solutions. There are various simulations.
